Goin to the Libary

Today's big adventure was going on errands.  In Japan, I'm completely okay with that.  We were going to go to this big shrine that's thirty minutes away and frequented by the prime minister, but we didn't.  Instead we went to the library.

This is the library.  The library had lots of CDs and VHS tapes that I really wanted to get, but I didn't know if my room had a VCR somewhere so I left the tapes behind.

Then we went to the home store!  It was like Wal-mart, both in size and in variety, but it was also better.  Not only because it was in Japan, but because the things they had were often different.

For example, contact lenses with someone I care about on the packaging.  Kara is everywhere and anyone that disputes their top idol status in Japan is an idiot.

There were also chickens.  By no means are we out in the middle of nowhere, but they had chickens for sale anyway.

They also had all sorts of puppies and kitties!  These guys were playing over their pen wall.  I didn't want to take too many pictures of the animals, but I also saw a bouncy dog wearing a bow tie and kittens so tiny I wanted to cry for English's lack of words to express the cuteness.

Yes, Japan has big buildings, too.

We also got ice cream from McDonald's.  In America, this is something I would never, ever do.  Here, it was an interesting experience, and didn't taste bad at all.

This is what I got at the library.  It's the soundtrack to Rurouni Kenshin, one of the best manga/anime series ever.  I am going to listen to it tomorrow, probably.
